To create a faux brick fireplace to stand in front of the original old fireplace so that the original remains unaffected.

Using masking tape to mark out the bricks
Building up filler to create a 3D brick texture and then removing the masking tape
Sponging on a base terracotta colour for the bricks
Adding variation in the bricks by changing the pressure of the sponge
Adding depth to the bricks using darker colours
Cleaning up the and painting the 'cement'
